Job Description

The Potter's House of Dallas is looking for an experienced and adaptable Audio & Production Engineer, with a focus on delivering exceptional audio quality for live events and broadcasts. This role offers the opportunity to engage in a wide range of responsibilities, including audio system setup, live mixing, troubleshooting, and hands-on support for broader production tasks such as equipment setup, pipe and drape
installation/removal, and operation of small-scale systems. The ideal candidate is technically
skilled, collaborative, and eager to train and mentor volunteers to ensure consistent and
competent production support. A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and a genuine passion for
sound is essential to succeed in this dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your contributions
will directly enhance the quality and efficiency of our production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Alignment with the church’s vision and values.
• Train and lead A/V volunteers in all aspects of audio and stage management.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure all audio systems are consistently maintained,
operational, and ready for use, supporting a reliable and standardized production
environment.
• Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for live events—including microphones,
mixers, speakers, and wireless systems—while conducting thorough pre-event checks to
ensure system readiness.
• Mix and monitor live audio for broadcast and in-venue sound, maintaining clarity,
balance, and adherence to production standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time to minimize disruption during
events.
• Document and manage event-specific audio configurations, including settings for
microphones, equalizers, and related gear.
• Keep current with industry standards and best practices, applying innovative techniques
and technologies as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper handling of all audio equipment.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of proven experience as an Audio & Production Engineer or in a similar role in
live broadcast, theatre, or event production.
• In-depth knowledge of audio mixing consoles, signal flow, audio equipment, and wireless
systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
• Experience with a variety of digital and analog audio equipment.
• Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Familiarity with audio editing software and other production tools is a plus.
• A degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field (preferred but not
required).

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry audio equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during live events.
• Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, variable weather conditions).
Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization.

Work Schedule & Availability:
Must be available on-site during scheduled production hours:
• Sundays: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Tuesdays: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Wednesdays: 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
• Thursdays: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Fridays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Flexibility for travel / Some evenings required / Schedule subject to change
